The Computer

Computers have come a very long way in the last few years, how well I remember my first computer a Tandy TRS 80, with two 5.25 floppy drives and no hard drive, a memory capacity of 48 KB, yes kilobyte not like the computers of today with usually a minimum of 256MB of ram but often 512 to 1 GB of ram.

The greatest benefit we have seen however is the dramatic decrease in prices, almost monthly the PC and its components drop in price whilst its power increases, faster processors, more ram, faster and bigger hard drives, items like DVD burners all within the reach of us all.

The purpose of this section is to assist the beginner, those frightened of the computer - they really don't bite ladies - and those who know how to switch it on and want to learn more.

You will learn about Hardware and Software, how and what you need to install, how to take care of of your hardware and software and what you need to reasonably safely surf the Internet.
