A very long time ago in an Indian village, an old chief was telling the children of the tribe some stories. One small boy said to the chief "our skin is red, but we see those who have white skins and black skins". The old chief smiled at the boy and said "I will tell you all how this happened". |
Many many moons ago the great chief in the sky created the earth, with the land, the hills and the rivers, he then added the animals like the buffalo and the horses, and fish for the rivers. But he believed something was missing so he thought of people, and set off on a journey to the mountains in search of clay to make models. With this clay he made tiny models, like small dolls, these he baked in an oven over a fire, the first one he took out of the oven to soon and it came out very light, the next one he left in to long and it came out very dark, but he kept on trying and trying. |

At the end of the day he had twelve little clay models lined up on a rock beside the fire, each baked for a different length of time, so each was a different colour, he stared and stared at these trying to decide which one to send to earth. He called to his wife and said to her " I have made all these clay models and I am trying to decide which one to send to earth, dear wife which one would you choose"?. His wife studied them for a while then said "Great Chief they are all so beautiful, why not send them all". Children of the tribe that is what the Great Chief in the sky did. We are all so beautiful. I remembered this story from when I was a child, Dedicated to someone very special.. |
